Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy explains when a Gradvise service may be cancelled, when a refund may be available, and how refund requests are handled.

Gradvise provides online academic-support services. Because many requests are personalised and may involve work beginning soon after an order is confirmed, refund eligibility depends on factors such as:

  • when the cancellation request is made;
  • whether work has already started;
  • how much work has already been completed;
  • the agreed scope of support; and
  • any statutory consumer rights that apply.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.

2. Before You Pay

Requesting a quote from Gradvise is free and does not create an obligation to proceed.

Before payment, we aim to provide a clear explanation of:

  • the type of support available;
  • the scope of work;
  • the agreed price;
  • the expected delivery time; and
  • any important conditions relevant to the request.

If you decide not to proceed before making payment, there is nothing to cancel and no charge is due.

3. Cancelling Before Work Starts

If you have paid but Gradvise has not yet started work, you may contact us to request cancellation.

Where no work has begun and no non-refundable third-party cost has been incurred specifically for your order, we would normally expect to provide a full refund.

Any unavoidable payment-processing or banking charges that cannot be recovered may be taken into account where legally permitted.

4. Cancelling After Work Has Started

If you ask to cancel after work has already started, a full refund may not be available.

Where appropriate, Gradvise may deduct an amount that reasonably reflects the work already completed before the cancellation request was received.

For example, this may include time already spent on:

  • reviewing your brief;
  • analysing marking criteria;
  • preparing a support plan;
  • conducting agreed research;
  • reviewing documents;
  • providing feedback;
  • editing material;
  • preparing analysis; or
  • completing another agreed part of the service.

Any deduction should be proportionate to the work actually carried out.

5. Completed or Substantially Completed Services

If the agreed service has already been fully completed and delivered, a cancellation refund will normally not be available simply because you later decide that you no longer need the service.

This does not affect your right to contact us if:

  • the service was not provided as agreed;
  • there is a clear error attributable to Gradvise; or
  • applicable consumer law gives you additional rights.

6. Urgent and Short-Deadline Orders

For urgent requests, work may begin soon after payment because of the limited time available.

If you request an urgent service and ask us to begin immediately, this may affect your ability to receive a full refund once work has started.

We will aim to make this clear before the service begins where relevant.

7. Changes to Your Brief

If you change your requirements after work has started, the change may fall outside the original scope.

Examples include:

  • replacing the assignment brief;
  • changing the research topic;
  • adding new sections;
  • significantly increasing the word count;
  • changing the required methodology;
  • changing the deadline; or
  • introducing new instructions not provided at the start.

In these cases, we may provide a revised quote rather than treating the change as a refund issue.

If you decide not to proceed with the additional work, the original agreed service may still remain payable.

8. Missed Deadlines

If Gradvise fails to meet a delivery time that was expressly agreed and the delay is attributable to us, please contact us as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate remedy may include:

  • priority completion;
  • a reasonable price adjustment;
  • partial refund; or
  • full refund where the service has become unusable because of our failure to deliver as agreed.

Refunds are assessed according to the specific circumstances.

A refund will not normally be due where the delay was caused by the customer, for example because required information, files or responses were not provided on time.

9. Problems With the Service

If you believe the support provided does not match the agreed scope, please contact us before requesting a refund where possible.

We may first offer an appropriate correction or revision if the issue can reasonably be resolved.

Examples may include:

  • correcting an editing error;
  • addressing an instruction that was missed;
  • clarifying feedback;
  • correcting formatting within the agreed scope; or
  • resolving another identifiable problem attributable to Gradvise.

A request for additional work that was not included in the original agreement is not normally treated as a correction.

10. Academic Results and Refunds

Refunds are not based on academic outcomes.

Gradvise does not guarantee:

  • a particular grade;
  • a pass;
  • distinction;
  • supervisor approval;
  • publication;
  • dissertation acceptance;
  • plagiarism-detection results;
  • AI-detection results; or
  • any other academic outcome.

A lower-than-expected grade or disagreement with an examiner does not by itself mean that the service was defective.

11. Academic-Integrity Restrictions

If Gradvise refuses or stops a request because it would conflict with our Academic Integrity Policy, any refund will depend on the stage of the service.

If no work has begun, a refund may normally be available.

If legitimate work has already been completed before the academic-integrity concern becomes apparent, a proportionate amount may be retained for that work where legally permitted.

12. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If you believe that:

  • you were charged twice;
  • you paid the wrong amount; or
  • a payment was made in error,

please contact us promptly.

Verified duplicate or excess payments will be refunded where appropriate.

13. Refund Method

Approved refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

Processing times may depend on:

  • your bank;
  • card provider;
  • payment processor; or
  • other third-party payment service.

Gradvise cannot control delays caused by those providers after a refund has been issued.

14. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

To request a cancellation or refund, contact Gradvise and provide:

  • your name;
  • the email address or phone number used for the enquiry;
  • details of the service;
  • the date of payment;
  • your reason for requesting cancellation or refund; and
  • any relevant evidence or correspondence.

We may ask for additional information where necessary to assess the request.

15. Consumer Cancellation Rights

Depending on where you live, statutory cancellation rights may apply to services purchased online.

For UK consumers, online and distance contracts can include cancellation rights, although those rights may be affected where a consumer expressly asks for a service to begin during the cancellation period and work has already been performed. Businesses must provide clear information about these rights.

Because Gradvise may serve customers in different countries, mandatory consumer protections available under applicable law remain unaffected by this policy.

16. Fair Treatment

Refund and cancellation decisions will be made reasonably and according to the circumstances of each case.

We will not rely on disproportionate cancellation charges or unfair terms where doing so would conflict with applicable consumer law.

17. Changes to This Policy

Gradvise may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time.

The latest version will be displayed on this page together with the updated revision date.

Changes will not normally alter the terms of an order already accepted unless required by law or agreed with the customer.
