1. Our Approach to Academic Integrity

Gradvise is an independent academic-support service designed to help university students develop their academic skills, understand their requirements and improve the quality and presentation of their work.

Our services are intended to support learning, not replace it. Students remain responsible for their own assessed work and for complying with the academic-integrity rules, regulations and assessment requirements of their university or educational institution.

Gradvise does not guarantee that any particular type of assistance is permitted by a student's institution. Students should check their university's academic-integrity and assessment policies before using external academic support.

2. What Gradvise Can Help With

Depending on the student's requirements, our academic support may include:

• Understanding assignment briefs and marking criteria
• Planning and structuring academic work
• Research guidance and literature-search strategies
• Developing critical-analysis skills
• Referencing and citation guidance
• Proofreading and language editing
• Feedback on clarity, organisation and academic presentation

3. What Gradvise Does Not Support

Gradvise does not support academic misconduct.

We will not knowingly provide services intended to:

• Complete assessed work for a student to submit as entirely their own
• Take an examination, test or other assessment on behalf of a student
• Impersonate a student or access an assessment as that student
• Fabricate research data, results, references or evidence
• Falsify academic records or supporting documentation
• Facilitate plagiarism or deliberate misrepresentation of authorship
• Circumvent academic-integrity, plagiarism-detection or assessment systems
• Assist with any other activity that we reasonably believe constitutes academic misconduct

We may decline or limit a request where the requested assistance would conflict with these principles.

4. Proofreading and Editing

Our proofreading and editing support is intended to improve aspects such as grammar, spelling, clarity, consistency, structure and presentation while preserving the student's own ideas and academic argument.

Where substantial changes would cross the boundary from editing into producing assessed work on the student's behalf, we may instead provide comments, examples or guidance that allow the student to make the necessary improvements themselves.

Students should check whether their university places specific restrictions on third-party proofreading or editing.

5. Examples and Demonstration Materials

Gradvise may provide examples, templates, explanations or demonstration materials to illustrate academic concepts, structures, referencing approaches or methods.

Such materials are provided for learning and guidance purposes. Unless explicitly permitted by the student's institution, they should not be copied or submitted as the student's own assessed work.

Sample work displayed on the Gradvise website is intended to demonstrate the type and standard of academic support available and is not provided as ready-to-submit assessed work.

6. Referencing and Sources

Students are responsible for checking the accuracy and suitability of sources and citations used in their final work.

Where Gradvise provides referencing guidance, students should ensure that their final references comply with the specific referencing style and requirements prescribed by their institution, department or module.

We encourage students to acknowledge sources appropriately and avoid presenting another person's ideas, words or work as their own.

7. Use of AI and Digital Tools

Universities and educational institutions may have different rules regarding artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

Students are responsible for understanding and following the AI-use policy that applies to their course or assessment.

Gradvise will not knowingly assist a student in concealing prohibited AI use, misrepresenting authorship or circumventing systems used to enforce academic-integrity requirements.

8. Student Responsibilities

By using Gradvise, students are expected to:

• Follow the academic-integrity policies of their institution
• Provide accurate information about their requirements where relevant
• Use our guidance as educational support
• Review and understand the material and feedback provided
• Ensure that their final submitted work complies with their institution's rules
• Properly acknowledge external sources where required
• Ask their institution for clarification if they are uncertain about what assistance is permitted

The student remains ultimately responsible for any work they submit for assessment.

9. Right to Refuse Support

Gradvise reserves the right to refuse, restrict or discontinue a request where we reasonably believe that providing the requested assistance could facilitate academic misconduct, violate applicable requirements or conflict with this Academic Integrity Policy.

Where appropriate, we may suggest an alternative form of legitimate academic support, such as feedback, tutoring, proofreading or guidance.

10. Independent Service

Gradvise is an independent academic-support service.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Gradvise is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected with any university, college or educational institution mentioned on our website or in our communications.

References to universities or educational institutions are used only where relevant to describe the students, requirements or academic contexts we support.
